- Paraphaenocladius exagitans longipes was one of the most common orthoclads collected, with 113 specimens examined. The subspecies was described from Costa Rica (type locality, Cacao (a volcano) in Guanacaste Province), St. Vincent and Trinidad ( Saether & Wang 1995) .
