Basionym:— Carphalea geayi Homolle (1937: 616) .
Type:— MADAGASCAR. Base de collines gréseuses de Sakamalio, no date, M. F. Geay 6026 ( lectotype, selected by Puff (1988: 302): P barcode P 00057259!).
Homotypic synonym:— Carphalea kirondron Baillon subsp. geayi (Homolle) Puff (1988: 302) .
