Diagnosis. This new genus is introduced for a diallactiine species that is basically similar to Johnsonomyia but has completely different, distinctive male genitalic structures, as follows. The parameres, which are separated from each other, are developed into exceedingly long, thin sticks with pointed apices (↓, Fig. 11B View FIGURE 11 A – D ); the ninth tergite is firmly merged with the gonocoxae (↓, Fig. 11B View FIGURE 11 A – D ); the ejaculatory apodeme is markedly broadened medially (Fig.

Etymology. The generic name is composed of Japo -, from Japan, and - plusia, from Haplusia , a diallactiine genus with similar venation.
