Genus Bruneiplusia Jaschhof View in CoL gen. nov.

Type species, kaspraki sp. nov., here designated.

The genus Bruneiplusia is here introduced for a small, mostly pale yellow diallactiine with long eye bridge, the Haplusia type of venation, and distinctive male genitalia. Bruneiplusia is apparently closely related to Mikrostyles , another new genus from Brunei described in this paper, which shall be discussed under the heading of the latter.

Diagnosis. Most notably, the ejaculatory apodeme of Bruneiplusia has an excessively large head-like extension apically (↓, Fig. 3A View FIGURE 3 A – C ). Parameres are not traceable as a discrete structure, but may be incorporated in that ‘head’. The elongate, pointed gonostylus, which is inserted ventrally on the gonocoxa, not posteriorly as is usually the case, has a setose process on the upper surface (↓, Fig. 3A View FIGURE 3 A – C ) and a long blade-like tooth on the medial margin (↓). The gonocoxae have subtriangular lobes dorsoposteriorly (↓, Fig. 3A View FIGURE 3 A – C ) and no ventral emargination (↓). Females of Bruneiplusia are unknown.

Etymology. The name is composed of Brunei -, with reference to the country of provenance of the type specimen, and - plusia, from Haplusia , a diallactiine genus with wing venation similar to Bruneiplusia . Gender of the name is feminine.
