Type locality: USA, Texas.

Additional distribution: USA, Arizona, California, Colorado, Kansas, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah; Mexico; Nicaragua; Peru.

Host plant: Prosopis juliflora , P. chilensis and P. glandulosa . Also recorded less reliably from Pithecellobium sp., Sphaeralcea angustifolia , Monarda citriodora , and Chrysopsis sp.

Remarks: Jensen (1945) suggested that Prosopis chilensis may be the primary host species.
