Type locality: USA, Iowa.

Additional distribution: USA, widespread; Canada, Alberta; Mexico.

Host plant: Salix spp., including S. lasiandra , S.lasiolepsis , S. exigua .

Remarks: This species is part of a complex of Salix -feeding species ( Burckhardt & Lauterer 1997).

Parasitoids: Tamarixia triozae , and Metaphycus sp.
