( Figs. 13–23 View FIGURE 13 View FIGURE 14 View FIGURES 15–23 )
Type material. Holoytpe. ♀ [on slide], CHINA, Tibet, Yadong, 27.V.2022, HL Li and LW Zhang (deposited in IZCAS), reared from Eulecanium kuwanai Kuwana on Prunus cerasifera Ehrhar. Paratypes. 5♀, same data as holotype (deposited in IZCAS).
Diagnosis. Female. Mesal third of pronotum dark brown. Fore wing ( Fig. 17 View FIGURES 15–23 ) with a large infuscated patch beneath the marginal vein.
Description. Female. Body stout ( Figs. 13 View FIGURE 13 , 14 View FIGURE 14 ), about 1.1 mm (excluding ovipositor sheath). Head lemon yellow. Antenna ( Fig. 16 View FIGURES 15–23 ) brown except scape brownish yellow. Mesosoma mainly lemon yellow except mesal third of pronotum dark brown. Fore wing ( Fig. 17 View FIGURES 15–23 ) with a large infuscated patch beneath the marginal vein. Legs mostly pale yellow except distal tarsi, hind coxae and femura dark brown. Metasoma dark brown.
Head. Head in frontal view about 0.95× as high as wide; in dorsal view, frontovertex about 0.55× head width. Eyes densely setose; ocellar triangle with apical angle obtuse; POL 2× as long as OOL; torulus with upper margin below level of lower eyes; mandible with two acute teeth and a short dorsal truncation. Antenna stout ( Fig. 16 View FIGURES 15–23 ), scape 3.5× as long as wide; pedicel 1.92× as long as wide, nearly as long as F1; F1 about 1.15× as long as wide, slightly longer than F2 and F3; F2 about as long as wide or slightly wider than length; F3 about 0.87× as long as wide; clava about 1.5× as long as wide and almost equal in length to funicle. Relative measurements: HL 21, HW 22, FV 12, POL 6, OOL 3, PL 7, PW 2, SL 2.5, SW 1.3, F1L 2.3, F1W 2, F2L 2, F2W 2, F3L 2, F3 W 2.3, CL 6, CW 4.
Mesosoma. Dorsum of mesosoma finely reticulate, with cells of sculpture on mesoscutellum. Mesoscutum ( Fig. 21 View FIGURES 15–23 ) 0.89× as long as wide and with about 50 dark brown setae; side lobe with about 10 dark brown setae; axilla with 6 dark brown setae; mesoscutellum ( Fig. 21 View FIGURES 15–23 ) 0.77× as long as wide; densely setose and with posterior pair of setae shorter than mesoscutellar posterior setae. Fore wing ( Fig. 17 View FIGURES 15–23 ) 2.3× as long as wide and with a large infuscated patch beneath marginal vein; marginal vein with 19 setae and longer than submarginal vein; postmarginal vein very short; stigmal vein with a distinct neck and swollen stigma; stigma with sensilla arranged in a line. Hind wing 3.56× as long as wide. Mid tibial spur ( Fig. 19 View FIGURES 15–23 ) slightly shorter than corresponding basitarsus. Relative measurements: SCL 10, SCW 13, FWL 70, FWW 30, SMV 12, MV 17, HWL 32, HWW 9, MT 17.3, MST 5, MBT 7.
Metasoma. Metasoma slightly shorter than mesosoma. Ovipositor ( Fig. 23 View FIGURES 15–23 ) originating from posterior margin of TV and sheath slightly exserted; second valvifer 2.6× as long as third valvula and the latter as long as mid basitarsus. Ovipositor about 1.1× as long as mid tibia. Relative measurements: OL 19, SVL 13, TVL 5.
Male. Unknown.
Variation. Very little in material available.
Host. Eulecanium kuwanai Kuwana ( Hemiptera : Coccidae ).
Etymology. The specific name refers to its fore wing with a large infuscated patch beneath the marginal vein.
Comments. In Hayat’s key (1998), the species runs to couplet 13 and close to C. chloropulvinariae Hayat and C. silvestrii . In the key of Chen & Li (2017), the species runs to couplet 5 and close to C. crenatus Huang. Female C. infuscatus can be separated from these species by combination of the following: fore wing with a large infuscated patch beneath the marginal vein, apex of mid femur and base of mid tibia without peg-like brisles.
