comb. nov.

Persicaria paralimicola (A. J. Li) B. Li , comb. nov.

Bas.: Polygonum paralimicola A. J. Li (1995: 414) . Type:— CHINA. Hunan, Dongkou , in montibus, alt. 460 m a. s. l., 11 December 1963, Liu et al. 16614 (holotype PE!) .

Persicaria runcinata (Buchanan-Hamilton 1825: 73) Gross (1913: 277) var. sinensis (Hemsley) B. Li , comb. nov.

Bas.: Polygonum runcinatum Buchanan-Hamilton in Don (1825: 73) var. sinense Hemsley in Forbes & Hemsley (1891:

347). Lectotype (here designated):— CHINA. Hubei, Ichang, Patung, Chienshih , March 1889, Henry 6001

(K000831075, Kew!).

Note:—Six collections (Henry 1344, 3889, 6075, 6075A, 6001, 6954) are listed in the protologue and they are sintypes (art. 9.5 of the ICN, McNeill et al. 2012). Since the specimen No. 6001 is the better preserved it is here designated as the lectotype of the name P. runcinata var. sinensis . This taxon differs from the nominal one in having glabrous or sparsely shortly strigose leaves blades with only one pair lateral lobes, and paniculate capitula ( var. runcinata has sparsely strigose leaves blades with 2–3 pairs lateral lobes, and geminate capitula.).
