Heterolepidoderma brevitubulatum Kisielewski, 1981

Localities. Ponds near Waterloo and in the Puslinch district.

Material. 7 specimens.

This species has a very elongate body. Head with one pair of long sensory ciliary tufts. Furca with conspicuously short, sometimes slightly curved, notched adhesive tubes. Two distinct scales stick out on either side of the caudal incision. The numerous and very short dorsal keels are hardly perceptible. The precise shape of the scales could not be determined.

The Canadian specimens are very similar to descriptions of European specimens. The only noticeable difference is the higher number of keels in the Canadian specimens.
