DISTRIBUTION: NA.

LITERATURE RECORDS: Crema et al. 1993; Martinelli et al. 1998; Castelli et al. 2008. NEW RECORDS: BM34, BM45, BM47, BM49.

REMARKS: According to Castelli et al. (1995) some specimens previously determined as Amphicteis gunneri (M. Sars, 1835) might actually belong to A. midas (Gosse, 1855) ; thus the distribution of the latter may be wider, extending also to the CA and SA.
