Alexander, 1945a: 259–261 (original description); 281, figures 8 (wing) and 11 (male terminalia); (as Limonia). Type locality: Brazil, São Paulo, Juquiá.
Holotype male with labels: (1) handwritten on white paper: “ Brazil | São Paulo | Juquiá | 400m XI-40 [1940] | Travassos”; (2) printed with handwritten inscriptions on red paper: “ HOLOTYPE ♂ | Limonia | capitonius | C. P. Alexander”.
Preservation: mounted at the tip of a pinned paper triangle; terminalia mounted on plastic slide pinned with the specimen. Missing parts: flagella, wings and legs.
Allotype female with labels: (1) handwritten on white paper: “ Brazil | Sao Paulo | Juquiá | 400m. | Nov. 40 [November, 1940] | Travassos”; (2) printed with handwritten inscriptions on red paper: “ALOTYPE Ψ | Limonia | capitonius | C. P. Alexander”.
Preservation: mounted at the tip of a pinned paper triangle; entire body missing except for one undetermined wing.
