Alexander, 1945b: 24–25 (original description); 42, figure 6 (wing). Type locality: Brazil, São Paulo, Porto Cabral. Holotype male with labels: (1) handwritten on white paper: “ Brazil | Sao Paulo | P. Cabral | Mar. 44 [March, 1944] | Travassos | Carrera”; (2) printed with handwritten inscriptions on red paper: “ HOLOTYPE ♂ | Hexatoma | ( Eriocera ) | cabralensis | C. P. Alexander”.
Preservation: mounted at the tip of a pinned paper triangle; terminalia undissected. Missing parts: right antenna, right wing, apical 1/3 of left wing, right front leg and left hind leg.
