The tribe Cerambycini includes in the Neotropical Region two subtribes, Cerambycina with 10 genera and 42 species and Sphallotrichina with 19 genera and 132 species ( Monné et al., 2009).

The genus Amphelictus was studied by Eya & Chemsak (2003a, b) and traditionally belonged to the tribe Hesperophanini . Martins & Monné (2005) transferred the genus to Sphallotrichina, Cerambycini as related to Coleoxestia Aurivillius, 1912 . Here we propose three new synonymies.
