Genus Engytatus Reuter
Engytatus Reuter, 1876: 82 . Type species: Engytatus geniculatus Reuter, 1876 ; preoccupied, next available name Neosilia modesta Distant, 1893 . Monotypic.
Diagnosis. Eyes located laterally at middle of head; calli indistinct or weakly delimited; pygophore with lateral tubercle on right side.
Discussion. Two species are known from Minas Gerais. Although Carvalho ( 1947 b) reported Engytatus varians from Brazil, neither Carvalho ( 1958) nor Schuh ( 1995) listed it. Cassis ( 1984) restored Engytatus to generic rank, an action followed by Schuh ( 1995).
