Eurhopalothrix clypeata Brown & Kempf, 1960 View in CoL
( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5. A B)
Eurhopalothrix clypeata Brown & Kempf, 1960: 205 , fig. 37. Holotype worker: Guyana, between Cuyuni and Mazaruni Rivers, 7 Sep 1935 (N. A. Weber) [MCZC] (not examined).
Geographic range. Guyana.
Comments. This species is still known only from the unique holotype worker. It is most similar to E. pilulifera and E. alopeciosa , sharing the small size; a similar arrangement and number of erect setae, these almost circular, nearly as broad as wide; and abundant ground pilosity that is strongly flattened and conspicuous. Eurhopalothrix clypeata has an arcuate transverse carina on the clypeus, a character so far unique in the genus.
