Negative for oxidase. Hydrolyses esculin and gelatin. Does not reduce nitrate to nitrite. Cannot produce acid from glucose. Does not produce indole. Possesses activity of β -galactosidase (weakly) and arginine dihydrolase, but not urease. Does not assimilate glucose, arabinose, mannose, mannitol, maltose, N- acetyl-glucosamine, potassium gluconate, capric acid, adipic acid, malic acid, trisodium citrate, or phenylacetic acid. Strain LPB0222 (= NIBRBAC000502419) was isolated from human sputum, Seoul National University Hospital, Korea. The GenBank accession number for the 16S rRNA gene sequence is MH930443.
