Description of Rummeliibacillus pycnus CAU 1496 View in CoL
Cells are Gram-staining-positive, non-flagellated, oval rod-shaped, and aerobic. Colonies are circular, flat, smooth, lobate margin, shiny, and cream colored after 1-2 days on GYE at 30℃. Does not hydrolyze esculin or gelatin. Does not reduce nitrate to nitrite. Cannot produce acid from glucose. Produce indole. Dose not possess activity of β -galactosidase, arginine dihydrolase, or urease. Does not assimilate glucose, arabinose, mannose, mannitol, maltose, N- acetyl-glucosamine, potassium gluconate, capric acid, adipic acid, malic acid, trisodium citrate, or phenylacetic acid. Strain CAU 1496 (= NIBRBAC000502369) was isolated from mine drainage, Gapyeong-gun, Korea. The GenBank accession number for the 16S rRNA gene sequence is MK053894.
