Distribution: It occurs in Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay ( Fortunato 1986) and in Brazil in the South, Southeast and Northeast regions ( Flora do Brasil 2020). In ParNa Iguaçu it occurs in the Céu Azul and Foz do Iguaçu areas.

Reproductive period: In ParNa Iguaçu it was found flowering in January and February and fruiting in February, March and June.

Diagnostic characteristics: Trees or shrubs with simple, bilobed leaflets with prickles at the base of the leaves, which differentiate this species from the other species of Leguminosae that occur in ParNa Iguaçu.

Conservation: Native-NE.
