Distribution: It occurs from the United States to Argentina ( Moreira & Tozzi 2016b); in Brazil it occurs throughout the country ( Flora do Brasil 2020). In ParNa Iguaçu it occurs in the Céu Azul area.
Reproductive period: According to Eisinger (1987) it flowers and fruits throughout the year. In ParNa Iguaçu it was found in flower and fruit in February.
Diagnostic characteristics: The genus Indigofera is easily recognized by malpighiaceous or adpressed, straight, bifurcate trichomes and anthers with apical glands. I. suffruticosa , in addition to the characteristics just mentioned, possesses a subshrub habit, pinnate leaves, salmon-colored corolla and markedly curved fruit.
Conservation: Native-NE.
