Distribution. Argentina ( Breddin 1897); Chile ( Magallanes y Antártica Chilena) ( Signoret 1885, Breddin 1897).

Subgenus Ectemnostega ( Ectemnostegella) Lundblad, 1928

Note. Bachmann (1979) and Bachmann (1981) mentioned having specimens from Chile that could be representatives of Ectemnostega ( Ectemnostegella) quechua ( Bachmann 1961) , but expressed doubts about their identity. Later, Morrone et al. (2004) did not include Chile in the distribution range of E. ( E.) quechua , a decision that is followed here.
