Material examined. Holotype, Ψ, Mt. Paoma, Kangding, Sichuan Province (101°95΄E, 30°03΄N, alt. 2505m), 29. 0 7. 2005, Wei Xiao leg.

Distribution. China (Sichuan).

Etymology. The specific epithet, an adjective, refers to the color of the tegulae.

Description. Female ( Figs. 25, 26 View FIGURES 25 – 28 ): Body length 7.5 mm. Red brown, white are: labrum, posterolateral side of clypeus, central part of supraclypeal area, inner orbits continues with malar space, band on central part of mesonotal lateral lobe, hind part of metapleuron, tergite 10 except posterior triangular spot; black brown to black are: ocellar area, irregular spots on dorsal part of scapus and pedicel, flagellomeres except ventral pale brown stripe, eyes, broad transverse band on ventral part of mesepisternum, mesosternal groove, mesopleural groove continues with mesepimeron, base of metapleuron, irregular posterior spots on lateral sides of all tergites, hind parts of all sternites, basal valvula 3 except ventral margins; yellow brown are: posterior triangular spot on tergite 10, ventral margins of basal plate, all of valvula 3. Pro- and middle legs yellow brown, yellow white are: coxae except basal irregular black spots and pale yellow spots, trochanters, base of femur, dorsal sides of femur with broad black bands, tibiae and tarsi with faint black stripes; hind legs red brown, yellow white are: metacoxa except irregular anterior black spots on ventral and dorsal part, metatrochanter, basal 3/7 of metafemur, metatarsus from apex of hind tarsomere 1 to base of tarsomere 5; extreme apex of metatibia black brown, apex of metafemur with dark brown inner spot. Wings hyaline; costa and outer side of stigma pale brown, rest of stigma dark brown, remaining veins black.

Labrum large, with truncated anterior margin; clypeus roundly incised up to 1/3 of its middle length, lateral lobes acute; malar space a little wider than diameter of median ocellus; inner margins of eyes slightly convergent downwards; supra-antennal tubercles insignificant, frontal area elevated, up to the level of eyes in lateral view, frontal ridges broad and distinct; median fovea ditch-like, deep and distinct in its anterior half with posterior half shallow, indistinct, antennal furrow deep; interocellar furrow deep, distinct, postocellar furrow shallow; postocellar area elevated, relative width: length = 1.57, lateral postocellar furrow deep and divergent backwards; head strongly narrows behind eyes. Antennae a little shorter than combined length of thorax and abdomen, flagellomere 1 slightly longer than flagellomere 2 = 1.05; mesoscutellum prismatic and elevated, lateral carina acute, middle carina of appendage indistinct. Hind tarsomere 1 longer than combined length of following 4 tarsomeres, claw with inner tooth much shorter than outer tooth. Front wing with middle petiole of anal cell much longer than vein R+M as 13: 8; petiole of anal cell on hind wing present and shorter than half of vein cu-a.

Punctures on labrum and clypeus scattered, shallow and rather large; punctures on frontal area and continuous inner orbit dense, and a little deep, interspaces with coarse microsculpture, shiny; mesonotum minutely punctured, distance between punctures shorter or equal to diameter of puncture, shiny; punctures on upper corner of mesepisternum as large as on head, but more scattered, interspaces with oily luster; meseanepimeron with distinct sculpture, mesekatepimeron polished without punctures and sculpture, strongly shiny; metapleuron with extremely minute and shallow punctures, shiny; punctures on mesoscutellum a little larger than on mesonotum, sculpture distinct, mat; appendages with sculpture, punctures and luster indistinct, punctures on central part of tergites indistinct, on lateral sides scattered, minute and shallow, interspaces with distinct oily luster; outer side of hind coxa minutely and shallowly punctured, indistinct.

Ovipositor sheath shorter than hind tarsomere 1 = 0.62 in lateral view, valvula 3 acute at apex and a little longer than valvifer 2 = 1.13. Lancet with 20 annuli (fig. 43), middle serrula having 12 anterior and 5–6 posterior subbasal teeth (fig. 55).

Male. unknown.

Discussion. The species is characterized by the character: head and body red, dorsal part of thorax with small black spots; under part of mesepisternum with a broad transverse black band; metacoxa to basal 3/7 of metafemur white, which can be easily distinguished from other species of indica group in Pachyprotasis .
