Holotype—FMNH 68540. 111.8mm SL, as published ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 ).

Paratypes—FMNH 94180. This lot of paratypes is reported in Karnasuta (1993) as FMNH 68540; however, this is because the holotype was taken from this lot and the remaining specimens were to become paratypes. Thus, these specimens have been assigned to FMNH 94180 to separate them from the holotype. Additionally, Karnasuta (1993) reports 21 specimens but this is in error as there are actually 22 specimens in this lot.

FMNH 51606. As published with the exception of counts. Karnasuta (1993) lists 17 specimens; however, 18 paratypes are in this lot.

FMNH 51607. N= 50 specimens, as published.

FMNH 44739. N= 4 specimens, as published.

FMNH 68541. 15 specimens (13 alcohol and 2 cleared and stained). Two cleared and stained specimens are reported in Karnasuta (1993); however, one cleared and stained specimen appears to have been lost. Upon return of the material, these 13 fluid specimens appear to have been combined with the remaining 11 specimens from this lot that were never sent on loan. The remaining 11 specimens were not examined as part of Karnasuta’s dissertation or the subsequent revision of Osteochilus . Given the range of sizes reported for the 15 specimens, it is impossible to distinguish the 15 specimens originally designated as paratypes. Thus, the count for this lot is now 26, with some 15 individuals of the lot being the designated paratypes of Karnasuta (1993).
