Distribution. China (Tibet).

Remarks. This species was originally described under Chrysosoma . However, its arista-like stylus is distinctly shorter than the head width, which usually should be at least longer than the combined length of the head and thorax in Chrysosoma . The ventral bristles of the fore femora are also weaker than on other species of Chrysosoma . These two features, however, usually are present in Amblypsilopus . Based on this evidence we transfer this species to Amblypsilopus from Chrysosoma . The species has a remarkably wide distribution and habitats, from broad-leaf forests at 870 m to shrubs at 2415 m.
