- Male scape swollen and vase-like, postpedicel triangular, length-width ratio various; male arista-like stylus with ovate apical flag if modified; cercus usually with ventral arm arising near base..............................2 ( P. flavipodex group)

2 Body length only 2.0– 2.5 mm; arista-like stylus as long as body, without apical flag; wing hyaline; hypandrium black with dark yellow cercus; cercus band-like, simple, narrowed towards tip [ India, Bangladesh].... P. inscriptum ( Becker, 1922) … 3
