Distribution. A Mediterranean endemic, depth range 500–1000 m. In the Levant, the maximum known depth is 1400 m ( Galil & Goren, 1994). Collected in the epi- and mesopelagial along the western margin of the Levant ( Jespersen & Tåning, 1926).
