Diagnosis. As for genus.

Distribution. Tropical and subtropical areas of all oceans ( Nielsen 1965; Nielsen et al. 1999), at depths from 1171 to 4415 m.

Remarks. First record in Brazilian waters. Collected off Bahia, from 1171 to 1929 m.
