Specimens examined:— KACHIN. Putao District : 455 m, 19 Apr 1926, Kingdon-Ward 6636 ( K), det. J. J. Wood . SAGAING. Mawlaik District : 305 m, 27 Mar 1927 , Chin 5777 ( K). Also reported from Tanintharyi Region by Kress et al. (2003: 86), but we have not seen material from this area.

Distribution:— The eastern Himalayas, northeastern India, Myanmar, Vietnam and southwestern China.

Phalaenopsis lowii Rchb. f., Bot. Zeitung (Berlin) 20: 214, 1862. Types :— MYANMAR. Mon State : Mawlamyine District, Parish 125 (lectotype W-R, designated by Clayton 2017: 86; isolectotype: K). Syntype: ORIGIN UNKNOWN. Cult. Low s.n. ( W-R 22215 ; icon. W-R 22217 )

Specimens examined:— MON. Mawlamyine District : type. WITHOUT LOCALITY. Cult. Day s.n. ( W); cult. Williams s.n. ( K); cult. RBG Kew s.n. ( K, W); 31 Oct 1904 , cult. Langwater s.n. ( AMES). Reported from Tanintharyi Region by Kress et al. (2003: 86), but we have not seen material from this area.

Distribution:— Myanmar and Thailand.

Notes:— Typification of this species should be investigated. W-R 26292 of Parish 125 is annotated as type by Sweet .
