Basionym : Cypripedium parishii Rchb. View in CoL f., Flora 52: 322, 1869. Type :— MYANMAR. Mon State : Mawlamyine District, Parish 198 (lectotype W-R, designated by Clayton 2017: 59; isolectotype: K; icon. K) .
Homotypic synonym: Selenipedium parishii View in CoL (Rchb.f.) Jolibois, Rev. Hort. 57: 132. 1885. Cordula parishii View in CoL (Rchb.f.) Rolfe, Orchid Rev. 20: 2, 1912.
Specimens examined:— SHAN. Taunggyi District : Maymyo Bot. Gard. 13512 ( K) ; same loc., Maung Gale-2 14622 ( RAF) . MON. Mawlamyine District : type; same loc., Parish 51 (icon. W-R 11582 ) .
Distribution:— Myanmar, Thailand and southwestern China.
Notes:— Discovered in Moulmein, Tenasserim (now Mawlamyine , Mon State) by Rev. Charles Parish and subsequently described by Reichenbach. However, the protologue says erroneously that the type comes from ‘Siam’ .
