Specimens examined:— KACHIN. Putao District : fide Aung et al. (2020: 95) . SHAN. Taunggyi District: 1330 m, 11 Jan 2016, Saw Lwin SL 217 ( RAF). LOWER MYANMAR. Boxall s.n. ( K). Also reported from Sagaing Region, Chin State and Mandalay Region by Kress et al. (2003: 86), but we have not seen material from these areas.
Distribution:— The eastern Himalayas, northeastern India, Myanmar, Thailand, Indochina, southwestern and southern China, Taiwan, Japan and the Philippines.
Note:— The type of the synonym Phaius roseus from ‘ West Central Africa’ probably came from northeastern India , not Myanmar.
