Specimens examined:— CHIN. Unspecified: fide Saw Lwin (2004: 14). SHAN. Unspecified: fide Saw Lwin (2004: 14).
Distribution:— Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Thailand, Indochina and Malesia as far east as New Guinea.
Notes:— First recorded in Myanmar by Saw Lwin (2004: 14). It is remarkable that this attractive species was not noticed in Myanmar in the past 185 years of botanical and commercial collecting.

Heterotypic synonym: Dendrobium nodatum Lindl., Gard. Chron. 1862: 717, 1862 [Aug 2]. Type :— MYANMAR. Mon State : Mawlamyine District, Low s.n. (holotype: K-LINDL) .
Specimens examined:— MANDALAY. Pyinoolwin District : fide Aung et al. (2020: 76) . MON. Mawlamyine District : types. Also reported from Tanintharyi Region by Kress et al. (2003: 72), but we have not seen material from this area.
Distribution:— Endemic.
