Basionym : Sarcanthus parishii Hook. View in CoL f., Bot. Mag. 86: t. 5217, 1860. Type :— MYANMAR. Mon State : Mawlamyine District, Parish 27 (holotype: K) .
Specimen examined:— KACHIN. Putao District : fide Aung et al. (2020: 70) . MON. Mawlamyine District : type. Also reported from Tanintharyi Region by Kress et al. (2003: 69), but we have not seen material from this area.
Distribution:— Southern Myanmar and southern China.
Note:— The type of this species has yellow tepals striped with red, but Chinese specimens have wholly purplish white tepals. Floral details seem to be identical though.
