Distribution:— The eastern Himalayas, northeastern India, Myanmar and southwestern China. Note:— The specific epithet is derived from the Latin ‘occultatum’, to hide or conceal in reference to the flowers half hidden by the floral bracts, not named after eye-like markings (thus ‘occulata’) on the lip as contended by Clayton (2002: 190).
