Distribution:— The Himalayas, northeastern India, Myanmar, Vietnam and southwestern and southern China.

Specimens examined:— MON. Mawlamyine District: type; same loc., cult. Low s.n. ( K). WITHOUT LOCALITY. Types; without collector s.n. ( AMES). Reported from Chin State and Tanintharyi Region by Kress et al. (2003: 74), but we have not seen material from these areas.
Distribution:— Endemic.
Note:— An attractive species that has recently reappeared in cultivation.
