Specimens examined:— KACHIN. Putao District : 1525−1830 m, 25 Nov 1937, Kingdon-Ward 13507 ( BM); same loc., Dec 2015, Saw Lwin KSL 1070 ( RAF) .

Distribution:— The eastern Himalayas, northeastern India, northern Myanmar and Thailand.

Bulbophyllum lasiochilum C.S.P.Parish & Rchb. f., Trans. Linn. Soc. London 30: 153, 1874. Type :— MYANMAR. Mon State : Mawlamyine District, Parish 307 (lectotype K, designated by Clayton 2017: 66; isolectotype: W-R; icon. W-R 2282 )

Homotypic synonym: Phyllorkis lasiochila (C.S.P.Parish & Rchb.f.) Kuntze, Revis. Gen . Pl. 2: 677, 1891.

Specimens examined:— MON. Mawlamyine District : type; same loc., Gilbert 7 (icon. W-R 23448 ) . TANINTHARYI. Myeik District: Griffith s.n. in Mergui Herbarium 777 ( K-LINDL) .

Distribution:— Southern Myanmar, Thailand and Peninsular Malaysia.

Note:— The Griffith collection was mentioned in the protologue of this species and perhaps should be considered a syntype.

Homotypic synonym: Phyllorkis lemniscata (C.S.P.Parish ex Hook.f.) Kuntze, Revis. Gen . Pl. 2: 677, 1891.

Heterotypic synonym: Bulbophyllum lemniscatum var. tumidum C.S.P.Parish & Rchb. f., Trans. Linn. Soc. London 30: 151, 1874. Type:— MYANMAR. Kayin State: Hpa-An District , Parish 211 B (holotype: K) .

Specimens examined:— KAYIN. Dawna Range : 730 m, 28 Feb 1927, Parkinson 803 ( K); Hpa-An District: types cited . RAKHINE. Unspecified : fide Nyan Tun (2014: 54), ident. uncertain . BAGO. Taungoo District : 150 m, 4 Jan 1927 , Chin 4411 ( K), ident. uncertain . TANINTHARYI. Unspecified : fide Nyan Tun (2014: 54), ident. uncertain. Also reported from Mon State by Kress et al. (2003: 66), but we have not seen any material from this area.

Distribution:— Myanmar and Thailand.

Note:— Nyan Tun (2014: 54) recorded Bulbophyllum lemniscatoides Rolfe from Rakhine State and Tanintharyi Region. This taxon is similar to B. lemniscatum but has terete (vs. winged) appendages on the sepals. Nyan Tun’s plant is B. lemniscatum in our opinion.
