Other: Westwood 1841b: 41 (South America), 1846: 171 (Nova Grenada [= Colombia?]); Arrow 1912: 63 (Colombia); Blackwelder 1944: 219 (Colombia); Ocampo 2006: 157 (Colombia, Costa Rica, Panama); Ocampo and Ballerio 2006: 181 (Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Panama).
Note. The specimens of Cryptogenius sp. mentioned for French Guiana in Moragues (2010c: 77) were subsequently identified as C. miersianus by Rheinheimer (J. Rheinheimer, pers. comm. 2018), who acquired the collection of Moragues.
