Type: Syntype (s), NHM 19802, 4 specimens .

Type locality: Philippines, Zebu , Dalequete Island .

Material examined: Indonesia: inside lagoon of Woka Island , off South Halmahera, 1°2.02’S, 128°13.97’E ( ZSM Mol 20052075), length 40 mm .

Remarks: A detailed description of this species is given by Kaas et al. (2006).

This species is easily recognizable by the deep V-shaped caudal sinus in the tail valve.

Smith (1903) reported the species from Maldives but we failed to find this species, and give an illustration of a specimen from Indonesia.

Distribution: Schizochiton incisus is a low tidal to shallow subtidal species, preferably living on dead coral or under stones embedded in coral sand ( Kaas et al. 2006). It is known from the Chagos Archipelago, Malaya, South Vietnam, the Philippines, Indonesia, northern Queensland, New Hanover Island and the Solomon Islands (Strack et al. 2006).
