TYPE SPECIES: Trypeta guttularis Meigen, 1826 (as “ Tripeta Guttularis Meig. ”), by original designation. CURRENT STATUS: Valid genus [ teste Norrbom et al. (1999: 141) ]. FAMILY: TEPHRITIDAE . REMARKS: There are two original spellings of this genus-group name in Rondani (1856): Dithryca (page 113)
