Genus Troglophilus Krauss, 1879 View in CoL

Troglophilus escalerai Bolivar, 1899 View in CoL , ( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 a).

Type locality. Jenidje-Kalé.

New localities: Döngel cave, Narlıseki, Kahranmanmaraş.

Species described by Bolivar only on a female collected by M. Martinez Escalera in 1899.

Taxonomic notes. male tenth tergite narrow and transverse with a short median incision, genital plate trapezoidal in shape with two short lobes separated by a concave margin where two thickened styli are inserted. Female subgenital plate trapezoidal with a posterior margin largely bilobate. Ovipositor straight and slightly enlarged on the superior margin.

Troglophilus gajaci Us, 1974 , ( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 b).

Type locality. Cennet cave, Narlıkuyu, Silifke, Mersin.

New locality. Gilindire cave, Aydıncık, Mersin.

Species described by P. Us on the basis of samples collected by J. Gajac in 1966. This species lives in few caves on the eastern part of Taurus (Mersin district) near the Mediterranean shoreline.

Taxonomic notes. this species is characterized by its medium size; the female subgenital plate is trapezoidal in shape and the relatively short ovipositor shows a superior margin slightly curved and an acuminate upturned apex.

Troglophilus adamovici Us, 1974 , ( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 c).

Type locality. Zindan cave, Eġridir, Isparta.

Previously known localities. Bıçakçıini cave, Derebucak, Konya; Balatini cave, Çamlık, Derebucak, Konya; Körükini cave, Derebucak, Konya; Tınaztepe cave, Seydişehir, Konya; Ferzene cave, Kuġulu Park, Seydişehir, Konya; Hisar cave, Erdemli, Mersin.

This species shows a wider geographic distribution in comparison with the other congeneric species, including caves from the North West area of Taurus (Isparta district), mountains around Konya, until the Mersin district.

Taxonomic notes. this species differs from the others in its larger size, the number and distribution of spines on its legs and the shape of the male subgenital plate. In the female the ovipositor is long and straight, with 18 denticles on the inner valves.

Troglophilus bicakcii Rampini & Di Russo, 2003 View in CoL

Type locality. Biçakçıini cave, Derebucak, Konya.

Previously known localities. Balatini cave Çamlık, Derebucak, Konya; Polje Kembos, between Derebucak- Ibradı; Dudeni cave, Feyzullah, Antalya; Subaşı cave, Kuyucak, Akseki-Cevizli.

New locality. Direkliin cave, Yeşildaġ, Beyşehir, Konya.

This species, described in 2003, was already cited by Us (1974) but erroneously confused by this author with T. escalerai . T. bicakcii lives in caves on the slopes of central Taurus and its distribution partially overlaps that of T. adamovici and in some caves both species can live together.

Taxonomic notes. this species differs from the other congeneric for the paler body coloration, the relatively smaller size, the shape of the tenth tergite and the short ovipositor showing a typical large expansion in the middle part.

Troglophilus tatyanae Di Russo & Rampini, 2007 View in CoL

Type locality. Kafkasor, Artvin.

This species was described in 2007 from samples collected by I. Landeck only in the epigean mountain habitats from the eastern part of Black Sea region (Artvin district) where also D. noctivaga lives.

Taxonomic notes. T. tatyanae differs from all known species of Troglophilus in its very small size and strong brown coloration.

Troglophilus sp.

Collection site. Dim cave, Alanya, Antalya ( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 d); Ferzene cave, Kuġulu Park, Seydişehir, Konya ( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 e); Güroluk cave, Gökçeovacık, Fethiye, Muġla; Gökçeler cave, Milas, Muġla; Havran (İnönü) cave, Havran, Balıkesir ( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 f).

These samples document a wide geographic distribution of the genus in Turkey, including at present caves from the Aegean Sea to the border with the Marmara region. Moreover, as already outlined in a previous study based on allozymes comparisons ( Cobolli et al. 1999), we can confirm the occurrence of a second species of Troglophilus in Ferzene cave. This new taxon shows a strong affinity with T. escalerai ( Rampini & Di Russo 2003) .
