( Figs. 10 View FIGURES 1 – 10 , 44–45 View FIGURES 44 – 45 )
Neochauliodes wuminganus Yang & Yang, 1986: 91 View in CoL .
Diagnosis. Wings mostly brown with several small hyaline marks. Aedeagus broadly rounded with inflexed lateral margin.
Description. Forewing length 25 mm, hindwing length 31 mm.
Head brown with darker front and pale yellow anteclypeus, vertex with a yellowish vitta at middle and several indistinct small yellowish spots near lateral sides. Compound eyes dark, ocelli yellow with black inner margin. Antenna black. Mouthparts pale yellow, with mandible, maxillary palpus, and labial palpus brown.
Pronotum yellow; meso and metanota grayish brown, dorsally with lateral sides dark. Legs brown with short, dense, brownish setae; tarsal claws reddish brown. Wings brown with several hyaline marks; pterostigma pale yellow. Forewing with a brown spot near base of intercostal area and apical half of costal area entirely brown; basal 1/3, middle, and apical 1/3 with several small hyaline spots near crossveins. Hindwing with base mostly hyaline, and with a transverse hyaline band from approximately Rs to M in apical 1/3. Veins brown. Rs 5branched, R2 apically 3branched, R3 and R4 curved backward at tip; 3 crossveins between R1 and Rs; M 2branched; 1A 2branched.
Abdomen pale brown. Male tenth tergum ( Figs. 44 View FIGURES 44 – 45 ) in lateral view subquadrate. Aedeagus ( Figs. 44–45 View FIGURES 44 – 45 ) strongly sclerotized, in ventral view with apex round and broad, slightly inflexed at lateral margin; in lateral view with middle portion strongly inflated and slightly narrowing toward tip.
Material examined. Holotype ɗ, CHINA: Guangxi, Wuming, Damingshan, 1963. V.23, C.K. Yang ( CAU).
Distribution. China (Guangxi).
Remarks. This species seems to be closely related to N. fuscus sp. nov. in having similar dark wings with several small hyaline marks, but it can be easily distinguished by the hindwings with the bases mostly hyaline and aedeagus with the apex roundly widened. In N. fuscus sp. nov., the bases of the hindwings are also dark brown and the aedeagus is not apically widened.
