Neochauliodes sinensis meridionalis Weele, 1909: 260 View in CoL .
Diagnosis. Head and prothorax yellow. Wings hyaline with dark spots and bands. Aedeagus in ventral view subtriangular with apical margin slightly incised; in lateral view slender with middle portion somewhat expanded and strongly curved dorsally in apical third.
Description. Forewing length 31–41 mm, hindwing length 27–35 mm. Head yellow. Compound eyes dark, ocelli yellow with black inner margin. Antenna black. Mouthparts pale yellowish brown; maxillary palpus and labial palpus with apices black.
Prothorax yellow; meso and metanota pale brown with lateral margins black. Legs dark with short, dense, pale brown setae; trochanters pale brown, tarsal claws reddish brown. Wings hyaline with dark marks; pterostigma short, pale yellow. Forewing with a small spot on the basal third of intercostal area, and a long and a short stripe before and after pterostigma, respectively; basal third of wing with dispersed spots; median transverse band extending from C to Cu, with a smaller mark on each side; apical margin with several marks along longitudinal veins. Hindwing similarly marked, but costal area mostly brown, basal half mostly hyaline, median transverse band subquadrate, much wider than that of forewing. Veins pale brown except for costal cross veins and veins in brown marks darker. Rs 5branched, R2 apically 3branched, R3 and R4 curved backward at tip; 3 crossveins between R1 and Rs; M 2branched; 1A 2branched.
Abdomen dark. Male tenth tergum ( Figs. 32, 34 View FIGURES 32 – 35 ) in lateral view subquadrate; in dorsal view apex strongly inflated. Aedeagus ( Figs. 32–33 View FIGURES 32 – 35 ) strongly sclerotized, in ventral view subtriangular with apical margin slightly incised; in lateral view slender with middle portion somewhat expanded and strongly curved dorsally in apical third. Female eighth sternum subtrapezoidal ( Fig. 35 View FIGURES 32 – 35 ) with posterior margin prominent; tenth tergum short, claviform with pointed apex; gonapophyses slightly longer than wide, narrowing toward tip.
