Family Georissidae View in CoL :
This family comprises83species in the genus Georissus Latreille ,found in all zoogeographic regions of the world except Antarctica ( Hansen 1999a; Short & Fikáček 2011; Fikáček 2019; Yasuda & Yoshitomi 2022). The genus is divided into three subgenera: Nipponogeorissus Satô (two species), Neogeorissus Satô (71 species), and Georissus Latreille (ten species). Seven species in two subgenera, Neogeorissus Satô (six species) and Georissus Latreille (one species) represent the Indian fauna ( Tables 1 View TABLE 1 , 2 View TABLE 2 ). Champion (1923) described them from the Himalayan regions of Uttarakhand, Sikkim and Darjeeling (West Bengal) and still reported from the type localities.
