Material examined. MISSOURI: Franklin Co., Gray Summit, Shaw Nature Reserve, 1.vii.2015, em. by 4– 16.vii.2015, C.S. Eiseman, ex Iris cristata , #CSE1678, CNC 564659, CNC 564660 (1♂ 1♀).
Host. Iridaceae : Iris * cristata Aiton.
Leaf mine. ( Fig. 129 View FIGURES 124–132 ) An elongate, irregular blotch, uniformly green or with a few small whitish patches; frass deposited in a single black lump. Larva solitary.
Puparium. Brown; formed within the mine, oriented parallel with the leaf venation.
Distribution. * USA: MO; Europe.
Comments. There are small differences between these and the available European specimens of C. iraeos . The mines on I. cristata are consistent with the account given by Ellis (2016) except that mines on European hosts are white (greenish in transmitted light).
