Material examined. Holotype: male: Brazil, Espírito Santo State, Santa Teresa , S19o54’53.42’’ W40o33’40.36’’, 08–09.ix.2015, light trap, FFST ( CZNC) GoogleMaps . Paratype; 1 male: Santa Teresa , S19o54’53.42’’ W40o33’40.36’’, 08– 09.ix.2015, light trap, FFST ( CZNC) GoogleMaps ; Santa Teresa , S19o54’53.42’’ W40o33’40.36’’, 08–09.ix.2015, light trap, 2 females, FFST ( CZNC) GoogleMaps .
Description. General color brown. Head brown with M-line, portions of clypeus and frons orange ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 A); lappets dark brown; clypeal area setose; post frontal line V-shaped; scape and pedicel dark brown; flagellum brown to dark brown; palpi brownish. Pronotum dark brown with darker rugosities ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 A). Legs brown to dark brown, tibia and tarsi darker. Wing membrane brown, veins dark brown. Cerci brown.
Male: Forewing length 8.1–8.3 mm. Hammer thin, longer than wide ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 B). Penial armature with a pair of medium distal membranous vesicles ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 C–D) and apex bottleneck-shaped with an opening; in lateral view, keel with a pointed protrusion between two flaps ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 C), in dorsal view, thimble-shaped ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 D); hooks relatively large, regularly curved and with apex acute ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 C).
Female: Forewing length 16.2–16.4 mm. Subgenital plate light brown 4-lobed ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 F) with a medial notch deeper. Egg: 0.225 mm x 0.145 mm ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 G).
Remarks. The overall color of this species is darker than typical species of the genus. In dorsal ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 D) and lateral ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 E) views, the penial armature resembles those of A. debilis and A. lencoensis Righi-Cavallaro et al.. 2013. However, in A. ruschii , the apex of penial armature and the apex of keel in lateral view are thinner. Furthermore, the vesicles in ventral view are smaller in A. ruschii . The hammer of A. ruschii is relatively acute and thin differing of those of A. debilis and A. lencoensis . The body size of A. ruschii is smaller than A. debilis but similar to that of A. lencoensis .
Etymology. The patronym honors Augusto Ruschi, a notable Brazilian naturalist who has spent most of his life devoted to the conservation of natural resources of Espírito Santo State, Brazil.
