AV, SP GoogleMaps ; Tr-Loc: M54- Dzilam, Yucatan, Mexico 21°32’35.659’’N 88°29’57.616’’W, 3♀, one ♂, 15 May 2005, 13 November 2005, 13 March 2006, coll. AV, SP; collected at depths of 0.9–16 m, in medium sand and fine sand, with Caulerpa , H. wrightii and Syringodium GoogleMaps .

Local distribution. ( Table 1 View TABLE 1 , Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 ).

Geographical distribution. GoM: southwest of Florida, Tuxpan-Lobos Protected Natural Area, Veracruz Reef System National Park, Bajos de Sisal Reef System; Caribbean Sea: Caiman Islands, Puerto Morelos Reef National Park, Quintana Roo coast; Indo-Pacific Region: Nha-Trang Bay, south of Vietnam.

Recognition characters. Female: antennule with three articles; uropodal exopod as long or longer than first article of endopod, endopod with six articles. Male: cheliped slender and longer than the total length of the body, with small teeth on proximal inner margin; uropodal endopod with six articles.

Remarks. It inhabits coral reefs, associated with sponges such as A. crassa and C. nucula , algae such as D. dichotoma , D. delicatula , and S. natans , and barnacle tests such as A. amphitrite ; it also lives in coral rubble and soft bottoms at depths 1 to 50 m depth.
