Polypedates leucomystax (Gravenhorst, 1829)

( Fig. 3 c)

Material examined. MNHN 2003.3406 (adult female; SVL 68.1 mm), Bayur, Province of Sumatera Barat, elev. 500 m; other specimens observed in Maninjau, Lubuksao, and, Lubukbasung, Province of Sumatera Barat.

Taxonomic comments. The species was originally described from Java. It has a very large distribution and clearly needs taxonomic revision ( Yu et al. 2008). The specimen from Sumatra falls morphologically clearly into this species ( Inger 1966).

Distribution on Sumatra. Present all over Sumatra.

Biology. Rather common in forested areas, in plantations, and near human habitations. Specimens were often observed by night, sometimes in daytime, either on the ground or perched. Observed in August with foam nest, and in November.
