Material examined. MNHN 2002.0438 (male; SVL 160 mm, TaL 17 mm), vicinity of Lubuksao, Province of Sumatera Barat, elev. 400 m.

Taxonomic comments. This specimen is typical for the species as described by Inger & Leviton (1961).

Scalation: DSR 15-15-15; VEN 131; Sc 16; SL 6/6; no loreal, no preocular, 1/1 postocular. Hemipenes: in situ, short, extending up to 8th Sc, not divided and covered with calyces.

Distribution on Sumatra. Province of Sumatera Barat; also the Mentawai Archipelago ( David & Vogel, 1996).

Biology. This adult specimen was collected in August at the edge of a primary forest at the beginning of a rainy night.
