TYPE LOCALITY: Australia, Western Australia, Moore River .
DISTRIBUTION: Known only from the type locality.
STATUS: IUCN - Extinct.
SYNONYMS: megalotis .
COMMENTS: Represented only by the holotype and paratype from " Australia " (Mahoney, 1975). Apparently extinct. Closest phylogenetic relative is probably Notomys cervinus (Mahoney, 1975) .
