TYPE SPECIES: Tarsomys apoensis Mearns, 1905 View in CoL .

COMMENTS: Revised by Musser and Heaney (1992) who recorded the history of the incorrect inclusion of Tarsomys in Rattus , and placed the genus in the group of Philippine New Endemics, although its closest relative has yet to be determined.
