Current status: Lixus siculus Boheman, 1835 View in CoL is a valid species.
Type. In Schoenherr’s collection at SMNH, under the name “ Siculus , Dejean, 8–9, Bhn.” is a male mounted on card and with aedeagus dissected; its left fore tibia completely and right funicle beyond the first segment are missing. It bears the handwritten label: “ L: siculus Dej., Sicilia, Chev.”, and fits description with type locality as Sicilia et Lycopolis Africae. It is here designated as lectotype with “ Lectotypus, 3, Lixus siculus Boh., Gültekin des. 2006”.
Remarks. This species is related to Lixus capiomonti Faust, 1883 .
