Dissomphalus foveolatus (Brown & Cheng) Evans 1954: 306–307 (genus combination); Krombein 1963: 263, Evans 1978: 42 (designation of synonymy).

This species is widely distributed through USA and ranges up to Costa Rica ( Azevedo, 1999c); it recorded here for the first time from Panama.

Material examined. — MEXICO, 4 males, Quintana Roo, 3 km S Puente Morelos, Jardim Botanico , 14.XII.1993, L. Masner col. ( CNCI) ; PANAMA, Panama, 1 male, Chilbre, Parq. Nac. Chagres, Campo Chagres , 24–28.I.2000, Malaise trap, A. Santos & P. Gonzalez col. ( MUIP) .
